Opening Hours
Generally open daily, with Potters Tropical Village open until around 5pm and the outdoor/indoor play areas until 4pm — it's worth checking the garden centre's site for current daily times, as these can shift seasonally.
Parking and Access
Free on-site parking is available at Lanchester Garden Centre, with the attraction easily reached from the A691 in County Durham.
Admission Prices
£5 per person for all-day access (children under 1 year go free). No pre-booking required — simply pay on arrival. Half-price entry is available for carers, Monday–Friday during term time.
Attractions
Potters World is County Durham's only registered zoo, made up of three interactive spaces included in the single admission price:
Potters Tropical Village – free-flying birds (including cockatiels, budgies, and lovebirds), reptiles, insects, koi, and a walk-through jungle-style setting, with tropical "rainstorms" and umbrellas provided
Potters Owl Adventures – a birds-of-prey centre
Potters Play Tunnel – an indoor and outdoor educational play space for younger children, including an outdoor sandpit
Visitors can hold selected animals for a small extra fee, and can come and go throughout the day (a hand stamp lets you pop out to the garden centre's Greenhouse Restaurant and return). The site also offers birthday party packages.
