This was the day I found out my knees are not the same age as my kids’ knees, and Flip Out Leeds made absolutely sure I knew it.

Flip Out Leeds is roughly 2 hours from Newcastle, and it does not do things by halves, 100,000 sq ft of trampolines, slides and adventure, 14 attractions under one roof. This is genuinely the world’s biggest Flip Out, and once you’re inside you understand why, there’s a full Ninja assault course, dodgeball courts, a gigantic airbag you launch onto from the trampolines, and Slide World with 9 jaw dropping slides that had my daughter queuing up again before she’d even reached the bottom.

We went for the Mega Pass, which gets you everything for a full two hours including Slide World, 2 games of Laser Quest and 5 arcade tokens. Fair warning, you need to be over 1.1m for some of the slides, so worth checking that before you promise the little ones the big ones. If you’ve got a mixed age group, there’s also

a dedicated soft play area for younger children who aren’t quite ready for the main arena.

The trampolines aren’t just bouncing either, there’s a proper basketball zone built into them and a dodgeball court, so the older two turned it into a full on tournament while I stood at the side trying to remember how to jump without pulling something. There are Drift Trikes too if trampolining wasn’t enough excitement for one visit, letting the kids race round corners on controlled drifts.

Lockers are available for £4 if you don’t fancy holding bags and coats for an hour, genuinely worth it given how much running around you’ll be doing yourself. There’s an on-site Diner for food and drinks to refuel afterwards, because trust me, everyone’s starving by the end.

We booked the full 2 hours and it flew by, the kids could have gone straight round again. This is one for burning serious energy, whatever the weather’s doing outside.
