Fayre Play is family-friendly during the day but becomes an 18+ venue from 6pm Sunday–Friday and from 3pm on Saturdays (valid ID required after these times).

Fayre Play is based in The Gate entertainment complex in Newcastle city centre. Newcastle Central Station is around a 15-minute walk away, with Metro and bus stops close by; nearby multi-storey car parks serve the Gate/city centre area.

Fayre Play brings a nostalgic fairground twist to a night out, with nine competitive funfair games such as:
Hook-a-Duck
Tin Can Alley ("Coupla' Tinnies")
Skee-Baw
Basketball-style hoop games
Winners can take home giant plushie duck prizes. The venue is also home to Burger-Drop, serving burgers, loaded fries and chicken tenders, plus a full bar with cocktails and mocktails. Under-18s are welcome earlier in the day (until 6pm, or 3pm Saturdays), after which it switches to an adults-only atmosphere.
