Air Trail is the UK's biggest Sky Trail high ropes adventure course, standing 17 metres above the River Tees at Tees Barrage in Stockton-on-Tees. Spread across four levels, it offers 60 unique challenges including wobbly rope bridges, cargo nets, tightropes and swinging stepping stones, plus two full-length zip wires that span the entire length of the course, the only course outside the US to do so.

When: Open weekends and daily during school holidays, with reduced sessions in term time. The course typically closes for the winter around early November before reopening in spring. Opening times vary by season, so it's best to check current sessions on the booking site before travelling.
Cost: Standard sessions (60 minutes) start from around £14.50–£15 per person, with family tickets from £45. Booking online in advance saves up to 20% compared with paying on the day. Air Tykes, the mini course for ages 2 to 4 (under 1.2m), costs £5 on the day and doesn't need pre-booking, with 20-minute sessions running throughout the day.
Parking: Free on-site parking is available. Please note Air Trail is not wheelchair or pushchair accessible due to the nature of the course.
Participants must be at least 1 metre tall to take part, with those under 1.2 metres needing to be accompanied by an adult. No climbing experience is required, all equipment is provided, and routes can be chosen freely so there's no need to wait behind slower groups. The site is shared with Tees Barrage International White Water Centre, so it's easy to combine with kayaking or paddleboarding for a bigger day out.
