This is Bonfire Night on a genuinely bigger scale, one of the region's biggest firework
extravaganzas, and with two dates to choose from this year it's easier than ever to fit in.
The Big Blaze takes place at Lintz Hall Farm, home to Psycho Path and Family Fright Fest
the rest of the Halloween season, so the site is built to handle a proper crowd. You're
looking at a huge bonfire, a massive fireworks display choreographed to music, plus a fire
and angle grinding show that genuinely had the kids transfixed. There are fairground rides
spanning white knuckle to little nippers, so whatever age your crew is, something's pitched
right for them.
The street food village is one of the best parts of the night for us, Acropolis for Greek food,
Truly Madly Pizza, and Donut Hut for something sweet to finish, plus a selection of bars for
the grown ups including The Wolf Bar for gin and curious concoctions. There's a stretch tent
bar and a fire pit barn too if you fancy somewhere warmer to sit between the main events.
Tickets release in tiers and genuinely rise as the date gets closer, so this is one where
booking early actually saves you real money, we're talking the difference between £10 and
£15 a head depending on when you buy.
The family ticket covering 2 adults and 2 children at £26 is worth grabbing if that's your shape of family, it works out cheaper than buying individually.
We were there from gates opening until well past the firework finale, a proper full evening out rather than a quick in and out. If you want Bonfire Night to feel like an event rather than just a display, this is the one to book.
